Shakuni movie review
Shakuni movie review,Shakuni telugu movie review,Karthik hakuni movie review,Shakuni 2012 movie review
Starring: Karthik, Praneetha, Santhanam
Direction: N. Shankar Dayal
Music: G V Prakash Kumar
Production: Dream Warrior Pictures
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Saindhavi, Baba
Sehgal, Priya Himesh, Velmurugan, Pushpavanam Kuppusamy
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar, Annamalai, Vivega, Paramu
Karthi, Tamil actor’s first straight Telugu movie is here
and let us see how the movie is.
Story:
Kamal Krishna (Karthi) is from Samarlakota who comes to
Hyderabad. Kamal wanted to meet couple of politicians to get rid of the
demolishment by Government who are back of his ancestral house back in his
village. But he experiences the political games of the corrupted politicians.
Even the chief minister Bhupathi (Prakash Raj) plays some crooked games. Fed up
with all these, Kamal wanted to attain power in order to get rid of these. Auto
Driver Appalraju (Santhanam) helps him in every phase. The rest of the story is
how and whether he attains the power.
Performances
Karthi’s performance was very good he carries the entire
film on his shoulders.
Pranitha, the heroin did justice to her role. She was given
a simple character involving songs and glamour role when possible. Prakash Raj
did the role as usual. No complains and no hiccups. Justified the Chief
Minister role. Santhanam justified his role with the one liner comedy and
punches. Rest Radhika, Kota, Roja, Nasser were natural. Anushka’s special entry
was unexpected but good. Kiran Rathod sexy looks made eyes open. Anushka’s
special role was a delight.
Technical Department
The main drawback was weak screen play. It would have been
much better. The story has no depth as well. On top of it, music and songs were
not good. They pulled the movie down.
Summary
Karthi’s performance was very good including sexy Pranitha.
The story line was ok but weak screen play. It was more of a political movie.
Should have been in the hands of a good director. Over all the movie was not as
expected.

Ferrari ki Sawaari movie review
Ferrari ki Sawaari movie review,Ferrari ki Sawaari 2012 movie review,Movie review of Ferrari ki Sawaari,Ferrari ki Sawaari hindi movie review
Director: Rajesh Mapuskar
Cast: Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani, Ritvik Sahore
Ferrari Ki Sawari is a simple rise-of-the-underdog story of a talented boy who dreams of making it big in the world of cricket. What makes the narrative interesting is its less-taken route (through a Ferrari) and the ensuing eventful journey. The slick sports car gives that additional momentum to the movie thereby ensuring a roller-coaster ride. Kayo (Ritvik Sahore) is just a school kid but plays cricket like a professional. Destiny gives him a chance to make it to the Lords Stadium in London for which he would need hefty coaching fees. His father Rustom (Sharman Joshi), an RTO head clerk, who leads a hand-to-mouth living, fails to get any loan.
Meanwhile a local corporator's son wishes for a Ferrari in his wedding for which he is willing to pay any amount. In a chance encounter, Rustom manages to get his hands on Sachin Tendulkar's Ferrari which gets him the money. Trouble starts when the upright Rustom decides to give back the Ferrari.
Cricket is the most common sport, Ferrari is the most uncommon car and together they make for a lethal combo in debutante Rajesh Mapuskar's film. The sport is something that everyone can relate to and the sports car is something that every other person dreams of. At a broader level, the Ferrari also stands as a metaphor for that larger-than-life aspiration of any individual that might seem unachievable at the outset but isn't entirely impossible.
Humour and drama go hand-in-hand in the film and the diverse genres never overshadow each other at any point. Such is the beauty of the screenplay penned by Rajesh Mapuskar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra that it makes you laugh in one scene and gets a lump in your throat in the very next. Rajkumar Hirani keeps the dialogues simple and lifelike and the lines leave an impact without the need of any dramatic punch. The minimalism with which Hirani sketches the story makes you easily identify with the protagonist's dilemma. Despite the random and rampant ride that the Ferrari sets on, the narrative at no point complicates itself and steers away from any slapstick tendencies.
Boman Irani, as the grandpa, who's had a bitter past with the game of cricket and doesn't approve of the sport anymore, makes for a conventional character. But the subtle scene where he faces his opponent from heydays (Paresh Rawal) who now heads the cricket board makes for a poignant moment. On the contrary, the Marathi corporator and his son, who contribute towards the comic track, lose their uniqueness after a while. The son's fascination for Ferrari, the father's quest for samuhik vivah and their mutual discord do not pass muster and, more or less, remain peripheral to the central plot.
The narrative largely has a very pragmatic approach so it is somewhat surprising that the film opts for a very convenient end. Also Sharman Joshi's melodramatic outburst in the pre-climax doesn't gel with the screenplay's otherwise out-of-box thinking. Most importantly, after having a symbolic representation of Sachin Tendulkar throughout the film, it seemed quite unnecessary to get his body double in the last frame. However, what makes up for these minor inconsistencies is the fact that the film has a heart of its own and is able to strike a chord with the average audience.
Rajesh Mapuskar does succeed in extracting decent performances from the entire cast. Sharman Joshi, as an uncertain and shy guy with a constant smirk on his face that tries to hide his inner sorrows, skillfully underplays his part. Occasionally he seems too passive but is still likeable. Boman Irani, as the unkempt grandpa, is dependable as always. From his conflicts to eccentricities, this actor can give lessons on how to remain in character. Ritvik Sahore is neither sugary-sweet nor cacophonously cranky like most child actors and comes up with an endearing act. Aakash Dabhade and Deepak Shirke as the duo in search of the missing Ferrari are hilarious. Seema Bhargav and Satyadeep Mishra are competent. Paresh Rawal is impressive in his two-scene cameo.
Ironically, this is a Ferrari that will zoom straight into your heart for its modesty. A beautiful watch!
Verdict: Good

Gangs of Wasseypur
Genre: Crime
Directed by: Anurag Kashyap
Movie Cast: Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadda, Tigmanshu Dhulia
Stories of gang wars and mafias have been churned out by Bollywood at frequent intervals, but Anurag Kashyap here, truly deserves a standing ovation for presenting a masterpiece with his new release ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. Exposing the dark underbelly of small-town India, which was unexplored till now, Kashyap’s GOW is a mother of all revenge drama. Something that, you may have not seen in the recent past.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say here that from the coal mines of Dhanbad, Anurag Kashyap has come out with a real heera.
All those who think Bollywood can never ever compete with the cinematic brilliance of Hollywood can go and take a walk, for India now has raised a tribe of filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap and Vishal Bhawrdwaj and ilk who with their brand of films can give the Scorcese and Tarantinos of the West a tough competition. And, who knows with the kind of film they are coming up with like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’-in the future they might come to hold greater depth than their global contemporaries.
Coming to ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, the canvas is big, but the stars are not our usual Khans. The real star of the film is undoubtedly its screenplay. Credit goes to writer Zeishan Queresi for inventing a story from the not-really-fabled land of the mafias. The film is made in two parts. The story of first part circles around the character of Sardar Khan played by Manoj Bajpayee. He is hell bent to avenge his father’s death who got killed by a coal mine contractor-cum-Wasseypur gang lord Ramadhir Singh played brilliantly by Tigmanshu Dhulia. But, there’s another layer to the woes of Sardar in the form of long standing intercommunity rival - the Quereshis.
The maverick director brilliantly establishes the town of Wasseypur from the colonial times to the present through the background narration by Piyush Mishra, who also happens to be the mentor of Sardar in the film. But more than the story of the film, it’s the characters who breathe life into GOW. The film seems so real, it appears like the actors were born to play every single of the 370 characters which makers claim to have used in this magnum opus.
Sardar`s father played by Jaideep Ahlawat holds great screen presence in his extended special appearance. Richa Chadda is a firebrand as the compromising wife who doesn’t think twice before using choicest of explicit to his philandering husband Sardar.
And, despite the film being dark, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ has an inherent sense of humour that comes quite naturally as the film unfolds. The scenes which really stand out for its hilarious moments are when Reema Sen is charmed by Manoj Bajpayee over her daily chores or the one where Nawazuddin goes on a formal date with Huma Qureshi.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui deserves a word of appreciation. This guy breathes life into his character with his deadpan expressions. Making a late entry, Nawazuddin promises a lot of potential in the sequel where he takes precedence as the mafia lord of Wasseypur in the film’s second part.
So yes, the film has unabashed blood, gore and abuse wherever the scene demands but no one can really say it’s all forced there for sensationalism. The violence is gritty and ruthless so if you are too squeamish to watch bodies being butchered or heads bludgeoned with stones, better give this one a miss.
The only other area where the film might falter is its length. With a runtime of almost three hours, the film picks up the pace only after the interval. But, given the films theme, it looks quite justifiable. So if you want to experience an all new wave of cinema in Bollywood, GOW is your movie. It’s has some real quirky moments which I’ll leave for you to explore in the film.
Watch it for its sheer cinematic pleasure!

teri meri kahani movie review
Director:
Kunal Kohli
Cast: Shahid
Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
If you
thought that the concept of a bride running away from the mandap on her wedding
day is something that Bollywood discovered at the turn of the decade, filmmaker
Kunal Kohli would want you to get your facts right. He takes this present-day
Bollywood formula to ancient times and shows that it was the same case even in
1910 with the only difference being that it was the groom, and not the bride,
who walked out of the D-day then. Likewise, history keeps repeating itself in
his film that spans three different eras to narrate the same love story,
thrice.
The first
episode has an aspiring musician Govind and a popular film actress Rukhsar
besotted by each other on the backdrop of the Hindi film industry of the 60s.
The second chapter has Krrish 'virtually' falling for Radha over tweets until a
social-networking war pulls them apart. Finally there's the quintessential
Punjabi kudi Aradhana for whom the good-for-nothing Javed reforms responsibly
in a pre-independent milieu.
While the
basic idea of presenting three love stories over three different eras might
seem as an interesting idea, Kunal Kohli isn't able to explore it to his merit.
Unlike Love Aaj Kal where Imtiaz Ali split the story over two epochs to
highlight the difference in perspective of love in the two generations, Kohli
isn't able to explore diverse viewpoints or human conflicts over the eras. So
while the central idea behind each episode is more or less the same, the
difference is merely visual. Alas, the artistic restoration cannot make up for literary
loss!
While the
level of detailing that is put in the revival of the retro era (with a toy-town
type ambiance) in the first track is appealing, if even half of that sincerity
was put in the scripting of the entire film, the output would have been more
beautiful. The second episode seems like an extension of Kunal Kohli's Mujhse
Dosti Karoge with the only advancement being that the couple connects through
social networking over online chats. The director keeps the (comparatively)
better chapter for the last but all that the duo does under the British Raj is
sing-and-dance, not just around the trees, but also inside the jail. Further
the film opts for a very convenient end and, before you know, the heroine turns
widow so that the hero doesn't have to fight anyone to win her. It's a
feel-good film after all, you see!
The
storytelling is such that each chapter switches to the next when the lovers
fall apart. But when the narrative brings each pair together in the climax, you
wonder if they had any problems to start with. That's where you realize that
the character conflicts were too shallow and the individual stories lacked
novelty.
From playing a musician in Bollywood to a
compulsive flirt in Punjab to the unflustered and trendy youngster settled in
U.K., Shahid does an exceptional job. Among the three characters, his take as
Javed is sure to win him accolades. Shahid Kapoor doesn't disappoint but one
expects more from the talented actor. Priyanka Chopra is overtly expressive at
times. One could blame their average acts or latent chemistry to the mediocre
script. From the three stories, both get better scope in the pre-independent
era episode but that's not saying much when they could have been thrice as
good. Prachi Desai and Neha Sharma do not get much scope.
'Thrice upon
a love story' reads the tagline of the film. This one attempts to thrive upon
the same love story thrice but in vain. Teri Meri Kahaani is an ordinary
kahaani.

SHERKHAN SALMAN KHAN UPCOMING MOVIE
Sher Khan is an upcoming Hindi language action adventure set in a jungle. The film will be produced and directed by Sohail Khan. This will be Sohail's 5th collaboration with his brother Salman khan. Salman Khan was confirmed to play the lead role by Sohail Khan but the female lead of the film has to finalised yet, even though there are some rumours that Salman Khan may team up with Angela Jonsson. Says a source “Sohail either wants a fresh face or he wants his brother to pair up with Angela. This might be a 3D movie, "Only after the final draft of the script is ready we will decide if it has scope for 3D or not", The producer of the movie, Sohail Khan said. Also Bipasha Basu is going to do a sizzling item song in the film. On September 16, 2011 it was announced that Sher Khan has been put on hold for the time being. Instead, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan are expected to start another film, a horror-comedy.
PRODUCTION:
This will be Salman Khan's first 3D venture. Though 'Sher Khan' will be shoot in Assam & Bengal, the Khan brothers will shoot in Thailand to avoid running into trouble with animal activists. Sohail says, “It’s very difficult to obtain permissions and shoot without getting sued by animal activists in India. That’s why we are applying for permissions in Thailand.” In the flick there are few scenes which need Sallu to act with a real tiger. Producer Sohail Khan is planning to shoot a scene where Salman is seen with a tiger in Thailand.
